Clowne: Police appeal for information after theft of historic coins

Police in Clowne are appealing for information after a number of historic coins were stolen from a display cabinet in the town.

The coins were stolen from the display cabinet in the foyer of Springs Health Centre, Recreation Close, between 9am and 5pm on Wednesday 12th June.

Seven coins were taken from the cabinet including a copper George IV Irish penny, a Victorian cherub brooch, a Victorian silver shilling, a George III silver crown, a Henry VIII Durham Mint penny and a Victorian decorated gold leaf brooch.

Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the coins is asked to call PC Matt Ward on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
