Clowne killer convicted of murder

A KILLER who claimed he accidentally stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death during a sex game has been convicted of murder.

A Nottingham Crown Court trial heard this week how Alexander Burnett, 32, of Westlea View, Clowne, stabbed 52 year-old mum-of-three Lee Hendry through the neck after a reunion at his home.

Burnett had claimed he stabbed Lee Hendry, of Brimington, Chesterfield, when a sex game went wrong but a jury found him guilty of murder.

Judge Charles Haddon-Cave, who is due to sentence Burnett on Wednesday 30th May, said: “This case is a tragic one where a lady has been killed and a family has lost a loved one.”
