Police in Clowne have seized a car after the driver was found to be driving without insurance and on a provisional licence.

The 19-year-old male driver was stopped on Neale Street, Clowne, at around 2.15pm on Thursday, 2nd January.

Checks showed the man was not insured to drive the vehicle and was not supervised by a full licence holder.

PCSO Matt Wardle, of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team, said: “Drivers need to make sure they are fully legal and that their vehicles are roadworthy before they get behind the wheel.”

Anyone with information about illegal drivers should contact Derbyshire police on 101.
