Christmas gift for carers

A GROUP of carers from Worksop are set to get support over the Christmas period at James Hince Court Care and Support Centre.

Up to six older people will be offered support to give their carer a much-needed break. The sessions are being offered by Notts County Counil and will be free during this trial period.

Coun Kevin Rostance, chairman of adult social care and health committee at Notts County Council, said he hoped the pilot scheme will give carers some well-deserved time to spend on themselves before Christmas.

The pilot, which will run until the end of January, will involve people who have been identified by the county council’s social care teams and is a part of the ‘Living at Home Programme’ for older people which is to support people to live in the community safer for longer.
