Chosen ones!

THE deserved group of inspiring individuals who will proudly parade the Olympic torch through the streets of Bassetlaw has been revealed.

The torch will be displayed through East Markham and Tuxford on its 8,000-mile journey through the UK before arriving at the opening ceremony of the Games on 27th July.

Charity workers, a disabled swimmer and an athletics coach are among those from Worksop chosen to carry the eternal flame this summer.

Zena, from Keswick Road, Worksop, suffers from an extremely rare medical condition and has overcome adversity to become a successful swimmer and currently attends the Nova Centurion County Disability Swim Squad.
