Chesterfield: Spireites aim to tame Lions at home again

Neil Harris’s Lions beat Port Vale 3-1 last Sunday, three days after losing at the New Den to Oxford United in the first leg of the Southern Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. League Two promotion hopefuls Oxford triumphed 2-0.

Millwall have a solid away record in League One, chalking up six wins on the road plus three draws.

Only the top two sides Walsall and Burton have accumulated more points on their travels.

Lions have three players, Lee Gregory, Steve Morison and Aiden O’Brien, who’ve been amongst the goals this season and manager Harris is delighted with his team’s attacking firepower

He said: “I’ve got three attacking players in double figures with 20 games to go. I said when I took over that we would have an attacking intent, that it would take time to be free-flowing, though we’re nowhere near that yet.

“But to have three players in double figures at this stage is a great achievement for the squad and for those three individuals.”

Chesterfield, currently 18th in the table, have no fresh injuries to contend with after the 3-1 reversal at Wigan Athletic .

Danny Wilson’s squad will be boosted by the availability of winger Gboly Ariyibi, who was their stand-out performer in the 3-2 success at Rochdale. He has served a one-match ban after picking up two yellow cards for simulation.

Ariyibi looks set to return, with Dan Gardner most likely to give way. Drew Talbot will also be pushing for a first-team start, possibly at left-back, a spot currently being held down by the inexperienced Dion Donohue, who is actually a midfielder.
