Promotion hopefuls Millwall came from behind to beat Chesterfield last weekend, meaning that a massive 16 points have been dropped at the Proact Stadium this season after the home side had gone in front. It is the same number of points that the Spireites trail the play-off positions by.

Raglan, formerly of FC United of Manchester, said: “It has been a common feature this season and I can’t put my finger on why it keeps happening.

“The amount of times we’ve said we’ve played well in matches but come away without any points, not even a draw has been frustrating.

“You have to see where we are now as being in a fight. If we had have just earned a point against Millwall, we’d have done okay, but we have lost a lead again in a bad 15 minute spell and we have lost a game we played well in for most of the time, so we’re not happy.”

Chesterfield are sixth-from-bottom, two points above the drop zone.

Raglan, who made his 50th senior appearance for Spireites in their 2-1 loss to Millwall, added: “The fine margins that were in the Millwall game sums up our season.

“We have played everyone and we have done well in a lot of games, but two defensive lapses on Saturday personally hurts and it hurts the team and I know it hurts the fans.

“They see a team playing well at times but not putting teams to the sword when we’re on top and then we let ourselves down when it matters.”

Football is about winning; you get nothing for playing well and scoring when you’re on top but then conceding two to lose,” added the 22-year-old Raglan.

Meanwhile, Chesterfield’s second string beat Gateshead 2-0 earlier this week, Jake Orrell scoring both goals against his former team.

Sheffield United midfielder Conor Dimaio played as a trialist in a generally youthful line-up.
