Cheers to The Blue Bell!

PEOPLE raised a glass to toast new beginnings as a much-loved Carlton pub re-opened its doors to punters this winter.

The Blue Bell pub on High Road is now enjoying a new lease of life and boasts brand-new features after undergoing a major £30,000 refurbishment.

It is now run by new owners, husband and wife team Paul and Carolyn Bouvier, who want to put the pub right back into the heart of the community.

Said Carolyn: “We really want to bring it back as a community local.”

“ There are some cracking people around here and you really need to give something back to your local community.”

Carolyn said “a true country pub” feel is at the heart of the newly-revamped Blue Bell - offering customers of all ages a friendly, relaxed family atmosphere.

Pictures and photos from days gone by hang in the pub which now boasts brand-new ceilings, flooring and extensive kitchen area where a talented chef team dish up traditional home-cooked food.

Beer enthusiasts are also well served, with at least four real ales on draft.

Said Carolyn: “Carlton has been crying out for somewhere nice for so long.”

“We just wanted a family-friendly pub where people can bring their children and enjoy really good, home-cooked food.”

Carolyn, who is originally from Langold, moved back to the area with husband Paul this year after several years running pubs down south.

The pair have a wealth of experience in the pub industry and already run the Legion in Langold as well as the Sherwood Ranger in Carlton.

Said Carolyn: “The pub industry is going through a difficult time, but it’s the person behind the bar and it’s the effort you put it that really makes the difference.”

“We pride ourselves on supporting the community and regularly offer our venues for fundraising events. We really want to be at the heart of the community and give something back to people.”
