A bun sale at Central England Co-operative in Carlton-in -Lindrick raised more than £200 for Dementia UK.

Colleagues from the store donated home baked buns and muffins to the stall.

Tracey Rice, one of the organisers said: “The generosity of customers was fantastic, we are very pleased to have raised such a great sum.

“The community spirit always shines on occasions like this.”

Among those donating was PC Gareth Mitchell, who donated £5 asking that the next five children who came in store were to be given a bun.
