Charity cash boost

CURRY lovers took a seat in their favourite restaurant to raise money for three good causes.

Customers at Meghna Indian restaurant in Church Street, Gainsborough, gathered to celebrate the eaterie’s first anniversary.

They enjoyed a slap up meal free of charge, instead being encouraged to make generous donations to charity.

“We raised £380 on the night which is brilliant,” said Meghna owner Harun Miah.

“Around 67 of our regular customers came to celebrate and it was a really good night, we had lots of fun.”

Meghna’s nominated charities were John Coupland Hospital, Children In Need and Cancer Research UK.

The hearty sum was split between the three good causes.

“It was so successful we’re thinking of doing it again in future,” said Mr Miah.

“We’ve only been here a year but we’ve built up a great regular customer base.”

“Weekends are busy but we also offer deals on Wednesday and Sunday too.”
