Charity calls for chocco fiends to kick the habit
As almost half the people in the region admit to being secret chocolate scoffers, a charity is asking them to give up the sweet treat in order to raise cash.
A poll carried out by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) revealed that 46 per cent of people in the East Midlands say they are chocoholics, with 49 per cent admitting that have polished off entire share bag or large chocolate bar by themselves in one sitting.
The charity is now asking people to get sponsored for giving up chocolate for the month of March as part of its DECHOX fundraising campaign.
Tracy Parker, BHF heart health dietician, said: “Chocolate should be an occasional treat rather than an everyday habit.”
