Caught with no licence or insurance

A HODTHORPE driver stopped by police without insurance or a valid driving licence has been fined £410 and had his licence endorsed.

Colin Thompson, 42, from King Street, admitted to both charges which occurred on the afternoon of 7th November.

Officers stopped Thompson driving an Audi A4 on Mansfield Road in Worksop.

Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard how the defendant told police how he couldn’t afford insurance.

District Judge Diane Baker endorsed his licence with eight penalty points.

“You simply have to have the right documents when driving on the road,” she said.
