Caught after hoax calls

A SERIAL hoaxer caught sending police on wasted journeys told them: ‘I have a problem’, a court heard.

Creswell man Mark Plaister, 25, of Welbeck Street, reported that the victim of a burglary in Bolsover Road, Shuttlewood, was waiting for police to arrive.

Officers found the address was secure and made house-to-house enquiries. They then recognised a parked vehicle used by Plaister, who had made hoax calls in the past.

Plaister admitted to breaching an ASBO imposed last November by making hoax phone calls between 25th February and 14th April. He committed similar offences last year.

He received an eight-week jail term but it was suspended for a year. He was also handed a one-year probation supervision order and 70 hours unpaid work, with £85 costs.
