Residents of Carlton-in-Lindrick are in shock after a 21-year-old man was stabbed.

Notts Police have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of GBH with intent.

The 21-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition.

The general reaction from people in the village about this incident is shock and surprise.

Bar manager at The Blue Bell Inn in High Road, Carlton-in-Lindrick, Lewis Pilsworth, said: “It was a bit of a shock.”

“This is a nice little village where everyone knows everyone.”

“It had a big effect on us at the weekend.”

“A lot of people didn’t come down on Saturday night.”

“I think a lot of the pubs in the area weren’t as busy as normal.”

“People have been asking us about it and a lot of people have been talking about it around the village.”

“It is very unusual for something like this to happen around here.”

“We haven’t been here that long but this is the first time anything like this has happened.”

“It will probably make people in the village a lot more wary to come out for the night.”

“Especially now that the nights are getting darker.”

“It has come as a real shock to everyone in the village.”

“Hopefully this is only a one off incident.”

Another shop worker described Long Lane as a normally quiet part of the village.

They said they were surprised and shocked when they heard about the incident.
