Carlton-in-Lindrick: Man charged with two counts of burglary after power tools seized from home

A 41-year-old man from Carlton-in-Lindrick has been charged with two counts of burglary after over 30 power tools were stolen in Bassetlaw.

The incidents took place at premises in Church Laneham and at Laneham Street, Rampton, on Friday 19th and Monday 22nd August.

Officers seized over 30 items from the man’s home. Some were identified and returned to the victims, whilst a number of items stolen in similar burglaries had been packaged and were being prepared to sell online.

Police are now looking to trace the rightful owners for the rest of the tools.

Many of the items are heavy duty power tools believed to have been stolen in similar burglaries from local construction sites and properties undergoing construction or renovations.

A specialist pneumatic drill and a circular saw were amongst some of the recovered items.

Some of the tools also use power supplies typical within the construction industry, rather than the traditional three-pin plugs used on domestic power tools.

Anyone with information about these incidents or those wishing to enquire about the recovered items is asked to call Notts Police on 101.
