Calum flies the flag for Gainsborough on Britain’s Got Talent

A GAINSBOROUGH lad hopes to dance his way to the live shows of Britain’s Got Talent this weekend.

Calum Flynn, a former Trent Valley Academy student, will appear on the show on Saturday night with his dance troupe Four Corners.

The group got rave reviews from the judges last time they appeared, earlier in April, after their energetic routine to Rihanna’s song Only Girl (In The World).

“The first audition was mental and we couldn’t believe the reaction from the judges,” said Calum, 18.

“The reaction so far has been amazing. When all the group are together in central London it’s just crazy - we get so many people asking us for photos. It’s so nice.”

Now Four Corners - comprising 16 boys and one girl - hope to show the panel and the audience that they are not ‘one trick ponies’.

Calum kept tight-lipped about the routine they will perform on Saturday night’s show.

But he said: “We don’t just do hip-hop dance. We do tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, ballroom, singing, acting, house, popping. The list could go on and on.”

Calum’s mum Sara Kelsey said she was ‘so proud’ of Calum’s success.

“I’m so excited to see him on TV again on Saturday and I just hope the people of Gainsborough will get behind him and watch too,” she said.

“They are a fantastic talented group and they deserve to go through to the live shows.”

“This is great news for Gainsborough, to show there is such great talent coming out of the town.”

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV1 at 8.45pm on Saturday 5th May.
