Business as usual despite road closure

It’s business as usual for shops in Dinnington despite a major road improvement scheme taking place on their doorsteps.

Although the B6463 Todwick Road is closed at its junction with the A57 at Todwick Crossroads, businesses fronting Todwick Road or those which use access from the street remain open as usual.

Traffic is being diverted via the B6060 through Dinnington and North Anston.

The closure is part of a £14.7 million improvement scheme by Rotherham Council that will see the A57 turned into a dual carriageway from the Todwick crossroads to Junction 31 of the M1 motorway.

Construction began in September and is progressing on schedule. The scheme is due to be completed in early 2014.
