Burglary on building site

A WORKSOP man who is battling addiction to class A drugs has admitted burglary.

Steven Philip Dickson, 33, of The Croft, Potter Street, pleaded guilty to burgling a property on Watson Road on 11th July and stealing a chisel, pliers and blow torch but denied the theft of a mobile phone.

It was described as an ‘opportunist offence’ to fund his drug habit. The court heard how Dickson had issues with class A drugs and that “without his habit, he wouldn’t have any need to offend at all”.

Sentencing was adjourned for ‘high level’ reports until 2nd August. Dickson has a strict curfew of 1pm - 7am at his residence.
