Firstly, we were told by George Osbourne, the CBI and the Bank of England that every household would be over £4,000 per year worse off, foreign investment would decline and more people would be out of work.
These lies were sent to every household, at a cost of £9 million to the taxpayer (us), by the Government, which we didn’t ask for.
And the Electoral Commission has the audacity to fine Vote Leave for an alleged overspend on its campaign, which it funded.
In all these cases the reverse is true.
Nissan in Sunderland increasing production, building new models and battery packs for its hybrid vehicles.
Hitachi in Newton Aycliffe building the new trains for the East Coast Mainline and other train companies.
Siemens of Germany already has a production facility in Hull and is now building another in Goole creating more than 4,000 new jobs.
McLaren have a new factory in Sheffield and Aldi, Lidl, BMW (with Mini and Rolls Royce), VW/Audi (with Bentley) are all foreign companies who have all invested heavily in the UK.
The real coup must be the Boeing manufacturing facility for wing parts.
Located in Sheffield, it is Boeing’s only manufacturing facility outside the United States.
I could go on but it would take forever,
The point I am trying to make to the ‘Remainers’ the ‘Doubting Thomas’s’ is that the future for the UK is better outside the EU.
It is a big world out there and foreign companies have confidence in, and want to invest in, the UK.
Leave voters were told they did not know what they voted for – an insult to the 67.8 per cent of voters in Bassetlaw who voted leave and know exactly why they did.
They voted for the UK to take back control of its affairs, laws, industries and policies.
There is no reason why, once Britain has left the EU, it cannot trade with Europe as before – it is about commerce, not politics.
I remember the original Common Market which was for trading within European countries, nothing more.
A single currency has done untold damage to the likes of Greece, Italy and Ireland because of their different economies.
So come on Mrs May show some spirit and respect the referendum vote.
This is a country which is capable and wants to trade worldwide.
It doesn’t want to be dictated to in a European ‘super state’, by unelected bureaucrats.
