The man appointed in February believes that a victory over the side in 14th in the NCEL Premier could be a catalyst for a positive end to the season.

He admits it won’t be an easy task but suggests the Tigers’ sizeable Sandy Lane following could play a part.

“Probably a bit of a false position for them in the league, they can be a tough side, they cause problems for most teams,” he said.

“The one thing their season suggests is that they don’t travel so good.

“The home advantage, with the support, will be massive.”

Milligan wants his players to be on the front foot and control the game in order to end their four-game losing streak.

“We’ve got to make sure we take control of the game, produce the football we’ve been doing, work hard and make sure that if we’re in a good position, a leading position in the game we game manage better,” he said.

“If we can get a win, the next few games after that we should be able to build a bit of momentum with the players coming back and finish the season on a high.”

Worksop are likely to be without some of their experienced operators again this weekend due to injuries Milligan feels haven’t been correctly dealt with.

“Steve Woolley is still out, the captain.

“We think he’s got a knee injury that he’s been struggling with for a little bit and wasn’t diagnosed properly.

“We’re taking care, as a maturing player he needs to make sure he doesn’t come back too early.

“That will be a gradual process but we hope to get him back before the end of the season.

“Conor Higginson is there or thereabouts, a couple more training sessions and he should start featuring.

“He’s had a reoccurence of a calf injury.

“When he came off against Staveley the sports therapist could feel the scar tissue was still there from when he did it earlier in the season.

“We’ve had to give it a bit more care and make sure the proper rehab progam was followed so it doesn’t keep happening - he says he’s struggled with it in the past.

“Alec Denton is struggling with his groin, that will be two weeks minimum and then he should see the season out and can hopefully bring a few goals to the side.”

Lee Hill remains suspended and Milligan has been left counting the cost of the lack of senior players available in recent weeks.

“In the last few fixtures if we’d had those players available to us we’d probably have held out for a point or maybe more,” said the boss.

“We’ve needed that maturer head in certain moments.”
