Ruth Snoddin said: “Police officers saw the defendant lying on a hospital bed restrained by security staff and swearing in front of other patients.

“His eyes were glazed and rolling and he smelled of alcohol. His trousers were soaked with urine.”

The court heard he had a previous conviction for drunk and disorderly in 2000.

Hunt, who represented himself, told the court: “It is out of character for me. I haven’t been in trouble for quite a while.”

He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.
