A record crowd packed into Heritage High School for the Festival of Brass competition at the weekend.
More than 2.500 people attended the event, organised by Bolsover Council, on Sunday 5th October.
Derwent Brass collected the coveted championship trophy and £750 at the annual entertainment competition.
Cabinet member for social inclusion, coun Ann Syrett, said: “What a day! Fantastic music, choreography, special effects and breathtaking soloists, fabulous performances and a great atmosphere made sure everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day. The venue was packed from start to finish and provided an excellent opportunity for the bands and audiences to meet and chat as well as perform.”
“It was also great to see bands at grass-roots level competing with some very talented young people coming through the ranks.”
