Bolsover: Councils adopt the Living Wage
Bolsover District and North East Derbyshire District Councils have agreed to adopt the Living Wage for its employees who fall below the national limit of £7.65 per hour.
The councils already adhere to the national minimum wage, but the adoption of this voluntary scheme will see the wage of employees who fall below the Living Wage limit increase to £7.65 per hour.
Bolsover District Council leader, Coun Eion Watts said: “Our staff are key to the success of the council and paying them a decent wage that they can live on is the right thing to do. Paying them a fair wage will help those being hit by rocketing household bills and rising living costs and also puts more money into pockets that will be spent in our local economy, boosting trade and helping businesses.”
