Victoria Lefley has admitted a charge of dangerous driving arising out of the incident on 17th September last year.

She was due to have been sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court this week but Judge Sean Morris adjourned the hearing for the defence to provide further in formation about health problems for which she has received treatment.

Judge Morris said “This was a long period of dangerous driving.”

“I don’t think I’m in a position properly to sentence this defendant.”

“This has all the hallmarks of her being used by somebody who was up to no good that night.”

“I am not going to deal with her without some proper information.”

“She is potentially facing a prison sentence but I haven’t decided what is going to happen.”

Lefley , 21, of Laughton Road, Blyton, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.

She also admitted failing to stop. She was granted bail and will now be sentenced on Friday 13th June.

Michael Cranmer-Brown, defending, said Lefley had received treatment for paranoia and has received treatment from her GP over the last two years for depression.

He asked for an adjournment so that proof could be obtained of her medical history.

He said: “She asserts that she does suffer from paranoia and had an unfortunate experience at the hands of a police officer at Gainsborough and that was part of her anxiety when she drove away on this night.”

“Her paranoia and her depression are linked to her cannabis misuse but she has put that behind her now.”

“She has a job with prospects and on the face of it this was something of an aberration.”
