Blondie bring their hits to Sherwood Pines

INTERNATIONAL superstars Blondie will play a special gig at Sherwood Pines next summer.

The show, on Friday 14th June 2013, is the first in a seven date tour of the UK’s woodlands for the Forestry Commission’s annual concert series Forest Live.

Fronted by charismatic pop icon Deborah Harry, Blondie emerged from New York’s new wave scene producing innovative rock/disco, reggae and hip-hop influenced songs.

Their ground-breaking material brought them a stash of hit singles like Denis, Picture This, Rapture and number ones including Heart Of Glass, Sunday Girl, Atomic and Maria.

Now, the band will bring all these hits to the spectacular natural surroundings of Sherwood Pines, near Clipstone, Notts.

Special guests The Lightning Seeds will also perform an acoustic set on the night.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship.

Income generated from ticket sales is spent improving the local forests for both visitors and wildlife.

The gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere, featuring catering and bar facilities - everything needed for a great night out.

Tickets priced £36 (plus booking fee) go on sale this Friday 7th December from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400 or online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
