Blaze breaks out at hotel

Crews were called after a fire broke out at a hotel.

Two pumps from Retford received the call at 4.41pm yesterday, Saturday 27th June, to the Markham Hotel on the Old Great North Road, Markham Moor.

It was found that the fire had started in the laundry on the first floor.

They were able to bring the fire under control using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet, by just after 6pm.

A ventilation fan was then used to clear moke from the building.
