Drunken Zacharious Jackson launched the attack on the Ford Focus, parked on Toothill Road, on February 24, causing between £800 and £1000 of damage to the car door.

He was caught on CCTV and later told police on a scale of one to ten of drunkeness, he had been a ten, said Lee Shepherd prosecuting.

Jackson, who is off work because of an injured hand, apologised to the court and said: “It’s my fault. I feel stupid. I feel ashamed to be honest.”

Jackson, 19, of Walesby Drive, admitted causing criminal damage at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He was ordered to pay £800 compensation, but no court costs or victim surcharge were ordered.

A 12 month community order was imposed, with ten rehabilitation activity days.
