Notts County Council currently subside some of these buses which aren’t making any any money.

The council cannot yet comment how many buses or which serviceS could be at risk because they are still in the consulation process.

Notts County Council leader Coun Alan Rhodes said: “ We will listen to people and qork hard to retain as many services as we can. The non-profit making buses are usually in the rural areas and some Sunday bus services could also be cut.”

“We have looked at passenger numbers and we have looked at protecting services but there are some services we cannot continue to run, the council needs to save money where we can.”

“The council will look into how we can help people who frequently use these buses, such as people going to work and school run users and we will do everything we can to help them.”
