Ranby House were delighted to welcome pupils from St Joseph’s in Retford, Ranby Primary School and Priory C of E in Worksop for a special one-off musical treat.

VOCES8, the internationally acclaimed and multi award-winning a cappella vocal group, delivered a series of exciting singing workshops with the children.

This culminated in a showcase at the end of the day to family and friends.

“This was a rare experience for the children to get the chance to train and perform with a famous music group,” said Maria Blanco, Director of Music at Ranby House.

“VOCES8 have appeared on the television and performed all over the world.”

“It was fantastic to be able to bring schools together to share the experience and great fun for all involved.”

Throughout the day the children took part in games and activities including warm ups for the brain, body and voice.

They learnt about music from different countries by learning songs, rhythms and harmonies.

One of the favourites of the children on the day was the chart-topping hit Happy by Pharrell.
