Bassetlaw MP’s summer school

PUPILS across the district visited London to meet with leading experts in politics and business, in an initiative set up by Bassetlaw MP John Mann.

The Bassetlaw and Coventry Citizenship Summer School (BCCSS) is a unique five day residential, co-educational, summer programme for talented students who’ve just completed their GCSEs and are committed to continuing their education.

Now in its sixth year, and pleased to welcome students from Coventry for the first time, the 48 participants will meet with leading experts in the fields of politics, business and finance to encourage them to explore their citizenship beyond the classroom.

“BCCSS came into existence in order to help young people with potential become actively involved in the local community, interested in the social and cultural issues of our time, and eager to expand their horizons,” said Mr Mann.
