And for the past two years, staff at the main distribution centre in Worksop have made Bassetlaw Hospice in Retford, as their charity of choice.

The team at the distribution centre, which is in the Manton Wood area of the town, have worked tirelessly to raise funds and help support the work of the charity.

From competing in boat races, to running cake sales, volunteering in Hospice shops and taking part in Hospice events, they have given their full support throughout.

The charity year culminated in a Carnaby-themed ball which took place on 1st May in Leeds, with all the supported charities in attendance.

As a company Wilko, supported 35 charities throughout the UK and have raised over £1.3 million for them.

Helen Eshelby, fund-raising and events co-cordinator for the Bassetlaw Hospice said: It really has been an incredible two years for us.”

“The Wilko team have raised in excess of £55,500 over the time of the partnership and have helped us in so many ways, we are truly grateful.”

Sue Jackson, the Hospice’s retail co-ordinator added: “We would like to thank all the Wilko team for their help in our shops over the last two years.”

“They have worked so hard for us sorting stock, helping with stock appeals and even moving premises in Retford, which we couldn’t have done without them. Thank you Wilko for all your help.”

Bassetlaw Hospice provides specialist care for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or a progressive long term condition,

It exists to support the patient and their families to achieve the best quality of life.
