Bassetlaw Council fined over pensioner death

BASSETLAW Council has been fined £25,000 at Nottingham Crown Court today over the death of a Langold pensioner who was hit by a council bin lorry.

Derrick Baines, 76, of Mellish Road, was returning home from the shops on his mobility scooter when he was struck by a reversing bin lorry on 10th July 2008.
