This year being the 100 th anniversary of the start of WWI and the 75th anniversary of the start of WWII, organisers are trying to obtain photographs of all the men included in the memorial in Barlborough Memorial Gardens.

If you can help with any information of photographs call 01246 810100 and ask for Tony or John.

Alternatively, call in at the centre on Ward Lane in Barlborough.

The centre’s opening times are 8.30am to 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8.30, and 8.30am to 1pm on Saturdays.

When the centre is open, all visitors are welcome to come and view the present WWI exhibition on display at the venue.

The Heritage Centre is the Old School House set in the grounds of Barlborough Primary School.

As well as the exhibition, the centre held a WWI commemoration weekend at the start of August and this year produced a 2014 calendar which included photos of Barlborough men who were lost in the conflict.
