Bank on ignorance

got back from a trip to Northern Ireland with some of their bank notes still in my purse.

These notes are sterling, British pounds just like over here.

But trying to spend them locally proved a challenge.

“It’s a Northern Irish note,” I said helpfully to one shop assisant who looked at the fiver like it was Monopoly money.

Totally confused, he ended up taking it to his supervisor for approval.

Not exactly a united kingdom are we?
