Aughton man jailed for his part in burglary

Martin Neville, 23, of Main Street, was part of a group of three masked men who forced their way into a home in East Herringthorpe on 3rd April.

They brandished knives whilst the occupants were still in bed and threatened to use violence before stealing a number of electrical items.

Police later arrested the three offenders in Aughton and recovered the stolen property.

Neville pleased guilty to burglary, alongside Lee Bates, 22, of Hill Top Lane, Kimberworth who was jailed for eight years.

Lee Gedney, 28, of Herringthorpe Valley Lane, East Dene, pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and was jailed for six years.

All three were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.
