Atlas charity trek opportunity

The challenge in July and August next year will raise cash for the African charity ‘TEACH’ (Time to Educate Africa’s Children).

And the latest presentation and information evening about this potentially life-changing opportunity will be held at Worksop Library, on Memorial Avenue, at 6pm on Tuesday.

The closing date to register for the challenge trek is 27th November and Bassetlaw-based Aran is particularly keen to recruit individuals from here and neighbouring districts.

“Access to opportunities of this nature is much easier in larger towns and cities,” he said.

“But I’m a country boy at heart and I want to make sure this opportunity reaches individuals in the more rural locations.”

The expedition is being run with Really Wild Challenges, which has years of experience organising and leading challenges around the world.

Help and support is at hand for the whole experience, including the best ways to raise money, what to pack, how to pack and training events for individuals to become accustomed to the physical demands of the trek.

Aran says that taking part in similar challenges around the globe has been life-changing for many people.

A previous challenge to the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in September raised £3,000 for TEACH.
