An artistic treat at Lyric

STUNNING images filled the Lyric Theatre as the Dinnington and District Art Society’s annual exhibition took place.

Around 120 pieces produced by members throughout the year were on display as the theatre was transformed into a temporary art gallery.

The public could also snap up some of their favourite pieces, alongside a calendar which has been made by members of the society.

Alison Brindley said the exhibition was made up of work in a range of different media.

She added: “The exhibition was excellent, a really good show.”

“It was made up of work which members had done over the year, some of which was for sale.”

“We sold about £825 of paintings, a proportion of which goes to the society.”

The society meets every Tuesday at the Lyric Theatre, on Laughton Road, between 7pm and 9pm and every Thursday at Firbeck Village Hall, between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

Regular demonstrations are held and new members are always welcome to attend.

The society’s next exhibition will be at Laughton Church on Saturday 10th November and during the afternoon of Sunday 11th.
