Armed robbery at Nottinghamshire service station

Staff at a Nottingham business were threatened with a firearm and a knife during an armed robbery last night.

Two masked men entered the Tesco Express service station on the A610 Nuthall Road at Cinderhill just after 6.30pm and threatened staff before stealing a quantity of cash.

A male security guard was struck over the head during the incident but staff were left otherwise uninjured. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life altering.

It is believed the men fled over woodland and open ground behind the service station in the direction of Basford Hall College and Basford Miners Welfare.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 691 of 28 January.
