APPEAL: Man fights off two robbers at King’s Mill Reservoir

The Sutton man was attacked from behind when he was walking home from Mansfield along the pathway next to the reservoir, between Morrisons and King’s Mill Hospital, at around 4.30pm on Monday, September 14.

He turned around to find the two men demanding money and punched one to the ground in self-defence.

The other robber then hit the man with a wooden object - which was possibly a small baseball bat or rolling pin - before the man also punched him to the ground in self-defence.

The two attackers then ran away empty-handed towards Sutton.

The victim of the attempted robbery only had a few minor injuries.

Detective Constable Mark Titley, of Nttinghamshire Police, said: “We would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may recognise the descriptions to please get in touch.

“When the robbers fled they themselves had suffered facial injuries which may have made them more noticeable.

“There were joggers in the area at the time so we believe there are a number of people out there who could help us find these men.”

The robbers have both been described as white, of medium build and in their 30s. They were both around 5ft 10ins tall.

One had a thick, scruffy, black beard and tanned skin. He was wearing faded, bleached blue jeans and a thick, thigh-length green anorak with the hood up.

The second man had light brown hair and pale skin. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms with white trainers.
