APPEAL: Boy, 11, suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries after being knocked down by two cars in Hucknall

An 11-year-old boy is fighting for his life today after being hit by two cars in Hucknall on Tuesday evening.

The collision occurred at around 7pm on Nabbs Lane, at the junction with Godber Road in Hucknall.

A petition has since been set-up calling for a zebra crossing on the road.

The petition states: “This petition is to present our need for at least one zebra crossing on Nabbs Lane for us, our children and the most vulnerable amongst us; to cross the road safely. Especially as there is a children’s park on Nabbs Lane, where it is believed the boy was leaving from. This is the most serious case to my knowledge but there have certainly been other children ran over on this road.”

Nottinghamshire Police is now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A police spokesman said: “The boy, aged 11, was struck by two cars – the first an Iveco Daily van and the second an Audi A4 Quattro.

“The boy was taken to Queens Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital this morning.”

“If you saw what happened or have any information which could help call Nottinghamshire Police quoting incident 770 of 20 October 2015.
