Nottinghamshire Police have now confirmed that the body found in a hedgerow in the Ladybrook area last night is that of missing teen, Amber Peat. Officers also reiterated that they are not treating the death as suspicious.
In a statement read out on the steps of Mansfield Police Station just a few minutes ago, Supt Matt McFarlane, who has been heading up the operation, said that a post-mortem had been concluded, as had a formal identification.
The 13-year-old was reported missing on Saturday, after it was alleged that she had an argument with her parents about chores.
Hundreds of people gathered in Ladybrook where community searches were organised in a bid to find the missing youngster.
She was finally found in the hedgerow, off a patch of grass, between Westfield Lane and Parliament Road, less than a mile from her home.
