A pensioner was targeted by two men touting for work and became a victim of distraction burglary.

Two men approached a house in Newells Terrace at around 10.35am on Friday, June 22. Once inside, one of them slipped passed the 90-year-old man and took some loose change from a bowl on the table before the pair left.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “The two men are described as white, in their early 20s.

“One of them had dark hair and was wearing dark clothes and light shoes. The other was wearing a cap with colouring around the edge and dark clothing.”

Detectives think they probably tried other houses in the area and are asking residents to be vigilant if they are approached in this way.

Anyone who saw anything or has information that could help, should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 284 of 22 June.
