‘40s night raises over £2.7k
MORE than £2,700 has been raised for Help For Heroes in memory of a young soldier who died on the front line in Afghanistan.
Pte Gavin Elliot was killed in action whilst on foot patrol in Helmand province two years ago, aged 19.
As a mark of respect his family and friends organised a 1940s themed evening on 11th November at the Ye Olde Bell Hotel, Barnby Moor.
The joint winners of the 1940s dress competition were Josh and Amy Humphreys.
