Scott Lazenby, 23, of Newlands Drive, Forest Town, admitted causing criminal damage to the Ace-ABC taxi after a 15-pint boozing session on February 28.

Robert Carr, prosecuting, said: “He became argumentative and aggressive. He said he wasn’t going to pay because his friend had already paid the fare.”

He punched a window and kicked the rear of the Ford Focus, causing small scratches and dents, the court heard.

Lazenby, who was not represented in court, said: “I am truly sorry and it won’t happen again.”

District Judge Tim Spruce ordered him to pay £582 compensation and costs of £85, at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
