Designer bin bags, belly button warmers and inflatable WALKING FRAMES are among the most unusual gifts received in office Secret Santas.

New research has revealed a third of Brits opt to gift something humorous to their colleagues at Christmas, with nude calendars and mankinis also among the most gifted funny items.

And even though nine in ten of those polled said they would see the funny side if they were given a risqué or humorous present, one in eight say they have put their foot in it and bought something that missed the mark in the past.

One respondent admitted to giving a bottle of wine to a teetotal colleague and another said they gave a ski jacket to someone living in Egypt where it snows once in every ONE HUNDRED years.

Commenting on the results a spokesperson for pre-poo toilet spray V.I.Poo said: “Secret Santa is meant to be a bit of fun and should be treated as such.

“After a long year, it’s a great way to bond with co-workers, whether you are firm friends with them already and are buying them a gift that references a long running joke, or they are a more distant colleague.

“The research highlights that funny or novelty gits are a sure-fire way to have a successful Secret Santa.”

The poll of 1,500 working adults revealed that while a third of Brits thought buying a funny present was the key to a faultless Secret Santa gift, 53 per cent said it was important to buy something thoughtful.

One in five Brits said they always opt for a present that refers to a private joke between themselves and another workmate.

A study carried out by V.I.Poo earlier this year revealed that shockingly over a third find it embarrassing to do a number two at work, with over one in five women avoiding pooing in the office altogether.

With parties just around the corner, saving colleagues from the fear and the embarrassment factor of dropping a yule log by gifting a fragrant solution really does seem like a Secret Santa no brainer.

V.I.Poo’s spokesperson continued: “V.I.Poo is a nifty pre-poo toilet spray which makes sure any particularly pongy reindeer droppings are kept secret.

“What better tongue-in-cheek stocking filler for friends, family and colleagues alike? It really is a gift that benefits everyone!”
