Win! Tickets to Whitwell Junior Players new show

Whitwell Junior Players are gearing up to host their latest production Joseph and you could be in the audience.

We have teamed up with the Players to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to see the show when it comes to Whitwell Community Centre from 27th-29th June.

With a cast of 17 children all aged between five and 16, Whitwel Junior Players promise a fantastic performance of the well known-story of Joseph.

Joseph is Jacob’s favourite out of his 12 sons.

His brothers resent him and stage his death after having sold him off to a group of traders.

Joseph works for Potiphar and ends up becoming the governor of Egypt after having foretold the future from the King of Egypt’s dream about seven good years of harvest followed by seven bad years.

Junior Players spokesman Amanda Beamish said the audience can expect a show full of fun and entertainment, with a couple of well-known songs and a group of exotic dancers.

“This short musical has been especially written for Junior performers by a group of teachers,” she said.

“Whitwell Junior Players have also just received a grant from Derbyshire County Council for the purchase of microphones which will be used for the first time during this performance to help enhance the voices of the younger performers .”

Tickets, priced £5, are available from Whitwell Community Centre.
