While we do not know when it will be possible for us to travel abroad, what we can bank on is the many wonderful holiday destinations in the region that will be available to us once restrictions are eased in Britain.
Nottinghamshire is blessed with being located just a short drive away from the beautiful North Sea coast in North Yorkshire, as well as the picturesque Peak District National Park.

. Skegness
In addition to being a recipient of a Blue Flag award for having one of the cleanest beaches in the world, there are plenty of other attactions that make Skegness an excellent place to visit including go-karting, ten-pin bowling, funfairs and crazy golf. 5. Heights of Abraham
The Heights of Abraham are a country park with famous show caverns set in 60 acres of woodlands and reached by cable cars over deep limestone gorge in the Peak District. The attraction, which also includes adventure playgrounds, makes for a brilliant family day out, and is just a stone's throw away from the Peak District National Park. Photo: Anne Shelley

6. Cleethorpes
The seaside town of Cleethorpes, which is located on the estuary of the Humber in Lincolnshire, is a popular holiday destination for many living in Yorkshire. 7. Whitby
Whitby is a wonderful place to visit, with its picturesque harbour that has the River Esk running through it, and the Gothic Whitby Abbey which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. It is also located a short distance from the coastal retreats of Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes and Sandsend and the peaceful and colourful countryside of the North York Moors National Park surrounds Whitby Town. 8. Buxton
