The Sherwood on Churchgate, previously known as Gabriel's and Sherwood Ranger, shut its doors on Tuesday, January 1 according to Lincolnshire Live.

Now the pub is on the market for £295,000.

The building dates back to the late 1800’s and was originally known as the “Ram Inn” but it was renamed in 1894 in honour of the Sherwood Ranger Yeomanry Regiment who were based in Retford.

The pub which has two bars was refurbished in 2017 when it was known as Gabriel's.

A spokesman for Brown & Co which are marketing the pub said: “Ground floor provides dining and seating with a central bar with further seating beyond with lounge area with large wall mounted TV.

“All materials are of an excellent quality and interested parties are encouraged to view the property to fully appreciate the opportunity.”
