Ralph Fiennes' royal performance to be beamed live to cinemas

Iconic actors Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave star in a theatrical production of Richard III which will be beamed live to the world's cinemas.

Ralph plays the villainous Duke of Gloucester whose pursuit of the crown results in his brother’s murder. Vanessa is cast as Queen Margaret in the production.

The performance on July 21 will be the first to be seen at London’s Almeida Theatre by worldwide audiences.

The production will be filmed using multiple cameras, with John Wyver as producer. He previously worked on filmed versions forthe BBC of Hamlet with David Tennant and Macbeth with Patrick Stewart.

Richard III will be shown in cinemas across Britain at 7pm including Cineworld Chesterfield, The Showroom in Sheffield and The Savoy in Worksop.

The drama runs at the Almeida until August 6 and will be performed at the Ulysses Theatre Festival in Croatia the following week.
