As I write, the sun is shining and it’s warm outside. We rejoice that a bit of summer has arrived.
However, my Indian acquaintance has just been to India where temperatures were 35C. They rely on air conditioning at home, in the car, in shops and businesses. Here we can live without such technology. Perhaps an umbrella or a raincoat. It seems to me that we should be thankful for what we have. We take for granted things that help us daily – heating, light, cooking facilities, communication, information technology, ready access to shops. Indeed, we grumble when things go wrong. We really do need to be thankful to God for everything, every day. Reverend Alan M. Hindmarch, Supernumerary Methodist Minister.
